Our College
Senthamarai College of Arts and Science was founded in the year 2010 at VRS Garden with the noble aim of serving the most neglected people in the rural areas who have been long denied good higher education at a reasonable cost.
Access, Equality and Inclusiveness, the Prime Mantras of Education are the breath and soul of this institution. Thiru V.R. Sonai, who has become a name for philanthropy is the founder and father of this temple of learning.
The college is situated in the VRS Garden, on the Tirunagar Road, opposite to Madurai Kamaraj University which is easily accessible. The campus is eco-friendly with lush green trees. This sprawling campus has palatial buildings which perfectly match the outer ambiance.
Our Founder
Thiru V.R. Sonai is the visionary founder of ‘Senthamarai College of Arts and Science”. The name “Sonai” is richly synonymous with simplicity, honesty, integrity, humanism, and all other rare human virtues. Hailing from a rural background and being a first generation industrialist, he has shown to the world that one can achieve excellence in any field by sincere hard work and utmost devotion to the task undertaken. His straight forward outlook and whole-hearted commitment took him along the path of glory.
His Passion for values in public life has always remained a powerful driving force in creating institutions for social causes. And the establishment of Senthamarai College of Arts and Science is only a natural culmination of his great concern for the society around him, the poor and the down-trodden. His zealous mission is to offer quality higher education at affordable cost for students from both urban and rural back ground. He always had an invincible faith that higher education should aim at moulding the all-around personality of students.
Our founder was always driving by short term initiatives and longer term investment decision to improve the bottom line people through his institutions. Getting people energised and confident that they can influence the bottom lines is more likely when trust and respect are established.
The above leadership qualities helped his dreams come true in not only 100% academic results but also in Placements to the students in the current year 2017.
