Department of English
The Department plays a key role in all the activities of the college and it walks proudly with well experienced and dedicated faculty members. The faculty members swap the time and service for the flowering of the bright career of the student community.
The Department is chiefly interested in opening fresh avenues for personality development and command of language skills along with the acquisition of knowledge of the subject, English Literature. It offers need based programs, provided in an academic environment of quality higher education, and imbibes essential and universal values implicit in literature and life. The students, especially from the under-privileged stratum, are trained to acquire English communicative skills along with the knowledge about varied social and national values obtained from the study of literature written in English around the globe.
The English department offers postgraduate students, specialized teaching and supervision from experts in their field, research resources, and an intellectually inspirational environment.

National and State Level Students Presentation
Our Department 10 students went to participate state level seminar on Indian writing in English organized by A.K.D. Dharmaraj Women College.
Our departments 35 students went to participate national level seminar on Indian writing in English organized by VHNSN College, Virudhu Nagar.
Our department 11 students went to participated national level seminar on Indian fiction in English organized by Soruastra College.
Our department 65 students went to participated national level conference on trends in alternative literature organized by NMS Sermathairajan College for Women.
Paper Presentation
Five students presented papers on “Portrayal of Human Trauma in Subaltem Studies and Dalit Literature” at Saint Antony college of Women, Dindigul.
Students came first in total points of various skill competitions of Heritage 2016 of “TATA DHAN ACADEMY” and got the rolling shield and a cash award of Rs. 10,000.
